The Nest Is Usually Under the Front of the House
The ants on a worktop are foragers, and the colony that sent them is almost always outdoors. In Kenton the likeliest place is beneath the hard standing at the front. How they get in at the front
From a nest under the drive it is a very short walk indoors: the gap beneath the front door threshold, the joint below a bay window, an air brick at the base of the front wall, or the hole where a cable or gas pipe passes through.
